Merii Kurisumasu!

Yes,i know it's a little late (very late in fact) to be wishing whomever who actually still bothers reading this blog..
Wishing everyone! (expect that bitch in Australia, having the time of his life)
" Merii Kurisumasu! "

Santa Clause post-Bahamas. And Protein shakes. Lots of Shakes.

And here's my personal favorite Christmas song this year (yes, it changes every year. Don't ask)

Yes, it's from a game. Yes, you can stop rolling your eyes now. And yes, i think the song is awesome because it's a fusion of two different styles. (Think Halloween and Christmas).

I promise to update this before the new year. Till then,
Merry Christmas, and take care!

AwesomeNess

If i wanted to update after a long absence, i'll only post something Awesome.
So, today's entry is pretty much brought to you by the word: "Awesome"

(refer to above attached picture)
I solely blame weihuan for sending such an insanely random picture, that's, well, pretty much what it says. Awesome. In a random way, mind you.
(you get the Awesomeness if you are either a) random enough, or b) slightest bit of old school star wars fan)

On another Awesome note, here's a song that's pretty awesome in it's own right. On par with the Awesome-ness of the picture. Remember that good ol' Cantonese song that people tend to sing in karaoke without knowing how to sing them Awesome lyrics? No? Well, here's a little help to kick start your memory:

It' Hai Kuo Tian Kong by Beyong, which literally translates to Sea Wide Sky Broad in all it's Awesomeness.
Again, i quote weihuan: " This song is like so.. Awesome. SO emotionally insanely Awesome. In like a really thick way. It's almost like coffee so bloody thick and strong that i falls out of your mug in one huge congealed blob, that kinda thick. Listening to it, you feel like you can take over the world and even more Awesome stuff."
Yes. that doesn't make much sense to me either, but i'd be damned Awesome to agree. Awesome people i hang out with.

Guess who?

I'm back. From the abyss. I swear it wasn't my fault. It was that abyssal horror. It grabbed me and held me hostage. I swear it was!

See!
Anyways,
With my long absence from the stranglehold of the internet, i've managed to get much music listening done. And i came across this rather.. unique sounding song by a 80's group with one of the more...uniquely sounding names for their band.
This is Kajagoogoo with Too Shy

Yes. It sounds so addictive. Or gut-wrenchingly wrong. I can't decide.
Get this song out of my head!

Turn down the lights, Turn up the radio

*before you even begin, put my music player (and yours too) on pause. no. really. do it*
Ever heard a song so sexy, so alluring sounding that you just have to listen to it again and again?

A killer combination of *damn* sexy saxophone, the subtle piano playing in the background, and the steady continuous gentle strumming of the guitar. All the coupled with the slightly deep, throaty voice of the male singer, belting out the Portuguese lyrics before we get a contrasting steady *oh so slightly sweet* and mysterious sounding voice of Astrud Gilberto with the English lyrics. slow, deliberate at a perfect pace of this lovely bossa nova.

I've listened to this song way too many times. Each time enjoying a different section of the song, may it be the deep saxophone tone, the calm with slightly chirpy playing of the piano, the relentless yet gentle continuous guitar being strummed, and gentle beat of the drums, the walking-pace tempo, the oh-so-lovely singing voices. Yes. I sound like i'm gushing over this song.. which i am.

IF you're still paying attention, Syprux's Haunting Melodrama presents to you, one of my all time favorites without a doubt:
"Stan Getz & Astrud Gilberto (With the Portuguese opening section 'Garota De Ipanema' by João Gilberto) - The Girl From Ipanema from 1964"

Ahhh... Old School Retro Stuff

Listen to this. Now how many of you people actually remember this song?
(yes, i realise that some of you are not born yet when this song was being played)
Gotta admit, just hearing this song makes my day *considering the fact i haven't heard it in a good 5 - 10 years or so*
Damn i love random lovely songs that pop out of the blue.

And for some reason, i can't seem to find any info whatsoever about these guys or their song. o well. Enjoy!

Tag. Blame the hot Dog Stand.

Rules: The selected blogger must say 10 things about themselves. Then tag 5 other people to do the tag.

  1. I’ve been tagged by the vile lemonade stand operator. She’s forcing me to do this tag or else she’ll intimidate me.
  2. I eat. Excessively. Compulsively. Erratically.
  3. I sleep. Excessively. Compulsively. Erratically.
  4. I play. Excessively. Compulsively. Erratically.
  5. I listen to music. Excessively. Compulsively. (bored yet?) Erratically.
  6. I still haven’t done up that sketch yet. From 3 months ago.
  7. I’m Pushing Daises
  8. I sing badly. But I still sing. Badly.
  9. I want to cook with saffron. But it’s expensive.
  10. I watch random movies for fun. Literally.

I tag….
+ Aisha
+ Wookie (for the fun of it really)
+ Dithy
+ Feli
+ Nat + Nad

Things to be done: Oktober

+ Oktober fest!
+ Halloween!
+ Update Blingzine! Articles people!
