Turn down the lights, Turn up the radio

*before you even begin, put my music player (and yours too) on pause. no. really. do it*
Ever heard a song so sexy, so alluring sounding that you just have to listen to it again and again?

A killer combination of *damn* sexy saxophone, the subtle piano playing in the background, and the steady continuous gentle strumming of the guitar. All the coupled with the slightly deep, throaty voice of the male singer, belting out the Portuguese lyrics before we get a contrasting steady *oh so slightly sweet* and mysterious sounding voice of Astrud Gilberto with the English lyrics. slow, deliberate at a perfect pace of this lovely bossa nova.

I've listened to this song way too many times. Each time enjoying a different section of the song, may it be the deep saxophone tone, the calm with slightly chirpy playing of the piano, the relentless yet gentle continuous guitar being strummed, and gentle beat of the drums, the walking-pace tempo, the oh-so-lovely singing voices. Yes. I sound like i'm gushing over this song.. which i am.

IF you're still paying attention, Syprux's Haunting Melodrama presents to you, one of my all time favorites without a doubt:
"Stan Getz & Astrud Gilberto (With the Portuguese opening section 'Garota De Ipanema' by João Gilberto) - The Girl From Ipanema from 1964"

Ahhh... Old School Retro Stuff

Listen to this. Now how many of you people actually remember this song?
(yes, i realise that some of you are not born yet when this song was being played)
Gotta admit, just hearing this song makes my day *considering the fact i haven't heard it in a good 5 - 10 years or so*
Damn i love random lovely songs that pop out of the blue.

And for some reason, i can't seem to find any info whatsoever about these guys or their song. o well. Enjoy!
