Piano Driven

I have to admit. I am pretty much easily hooked on piano centered music (well, not all of them of course). You know, those songs where they have the haunting sounds of a piano being played in the background, or the piano being featured prominently besides the singer's voice, or just merely the piano in all it's splendor. Yeah. I'm a sucker for piano driven songs.
I've been gladly surprised over the years that piano drive rock have been featured rather prominently by certain rock bands and songs are actually rather fantastic. Well, i'll list some of my favorites: Syprux's Haunting Melodrama presents-
+ Coldplay - Trouble. There are a fair number of coldplay songs which prominently feature Chris Martin's voice and piano prowess. His haunting voice and his haunting piano tunes. Such a nice combination.
Trouble

+ Keane - Everybody's changing. Here's a band who has such a talented pianist. All of Keane's songs feature the piano (well, they don't have a guitarist, and there's only so much of Tom's baby-ish voice can one take before you feel deranged)but in my opinion, this is one of the songs where Rice-Oakley clearly demonstrates his creativity with the piano .Rice-Oakley is brilliant at the piano. He can play out such gentle haunting tunes, and also strong melodies. Brilliant.
Everybody's Changing

+ Radiohead - Karma Police. Damn, piano driven rock without Karma Police is like.. like.. Garlic naan without tandoori chicken (sorry. couldn't resist that reference). Song starts off with heavy chords before Yorke's (slightly) deranged sounding voice starts crooning "Karma Police..". Brilliant.. then again, Radiohead IS brilliant. but their music isn't for everyone. Damn i love these guys.
Karma Police

Well, it's kind of ironic that i like piano rock, while my brother is into guitar rock. You should see us blasting our collections side by side. Guitar rifts with piano chords. Madness.

Pop music has had it's fair share of piano drive pop too. (and no, i'm not going to recommend boybands, as much as i like them, i refuse to succumb!)
+ Robbie Williams - Angels/Feel. I'm not a huge fan of Robbie. But these two songs particularly stand out to me (well, not only because it sounds good), but the piano playing makes this song sounds so very unique, and catchy too.Angels
Feel

And let's not forget classical music. One particular classical piece (apart from beautiful blue danube), was the recent live performance by Hancock and Lang Lang at the Grammys. Rhapsody in Blue.(for the life of me, i can't seem to find that video. damn you youtube!)
Here's a substitute. Enjoy

V.L.V.O.D.A.A.H.F.

This isn't much of a update, if it is an update at all.
Clearly, i'm horribly addicted to this song.
"Violet Hill" by the British band, Coldplay
Well, then again, i've always been a huge Coldplay fan, and get addicted easily to their songs.
Truthfully, when they said their new album would have a different sound from their other 3 albums, i was worried. (remember linkin park? yes. i ABHOR their latest album. total rubbish. i digress) Anyways, when Violet Hill was announced to be released and free for download, as all loyal Coldplay fans would, i downloaded the song (from the official source. i swear!)and my fears was definitely mis-placed.
I love their new song. (more like Love kookie and kreame ice cream sorta love. not so much the man-on-man love) Indeed, their song sounds different from their previous works (to an extent), but still, when Martin starts singing, his haunting voice reassures me that Coldplay is still Coldplay. The beloved piano is still there, the haunting voice, the echoing lyrics. Ah. It's good to hear new styles fused with the old. Only a month or so before their album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is released. Can't wait to hear what other changes they made to their sound.

Without further delay, Syprux's Haunting Melodrama presents, Violet Hill by Coldplay, taken from their upcoming 4th album, Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends

Lyrics:
Was a long and dark December
From the rooftops i remember
There was snow
White snow

Clearly i remember
From the windows they were watching
While we froze down below

When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You'd better lie low

If you love me
Won't you let me know?

Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God

Priests clutched onto bibles
And went out to fit their rifles
And the cross was held aloft

Bury me in honor
When i'm dead and hit the ground
A love back home unfolds

If you love me
Won't you let me know?

(Guitar Solo)

I don't want to be a soldier
With the captain of some sinking ship
With snow, far below

So if you love me
Why'd you let me go?

I took my love down to violet hill
There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still

So if you love me
Won't you let me know?

If you love me,
Won't you let me know?

And for the next post..

For my next post, it would mostly (if not entirely) involve the following "words":

Was a long and dark December
From the rooftops i remember
There was snow
White snow
Clearly i remember..

among others. Heh. (i bet some of you already know what to expect)
They are back~! Viva la vida~!

,1:35 AM
Long delayed update. again.

At 1.36am in the morning, all a sudden, i have the urge/intent to update my poorly neglected blog. Well, to be absolutely honest, if i were to update each time i believe that an event is worth blogging about, there wouldn't be so little posts. Am i making sense? Thought so.

Just for the fun of it, i've finally had the luxury of owning a new phone. *yes! after 5 agonizing years with a brick, i finally get myself a NEW brick!* AND this brick actually comes with a friggin' camera! a camera i say! CAMERA! (which now, i can cam-whore all i want and post it any and every chance i get.. which incidentally would drive away readers of my blog, which is already scarce to begin with..)
Anyways, i shall post pics of my phone when i stop being so lazy. *attempts to crawl across floor to reach fridge while grumbling about lack of walking fridges*

Oh. and another thing. after months and months and more months of procrastinating, and internal debates, i finally decided to over-extend and splurge to get my PSP modded. Which i realise, is a horribly bad idea. Why you ask?
Do you know HOW excruciating is it to actually peel off that infernal device from my clawed fingers as i'm chugging away at Crisis Core and Patapon?
DO you? *pata..pata..pata..pon~ pata..pata..pata..pon~*

Yes. It is addictive, made even worse with it's portability which now i can indulge EVERYWHERE i go, including while driving. (try going along a highway at insane speeds while trying to out-manuvere Minerva)

And as for my bad habit of listening in too much music, i've re-discovered this Finnish band that goes by the name HIM. Resembling (IMHO) of the Rasmus,Syprux's Haunting Melodrama chillingly presents to you,"Wings of a Butterfly", taken from their 2005 album, Dark Light. Enjoy
